Item Stringer Extraordinaire

Input plain text into the top textfield, or input strings with color codes into the bottom textfield. The other field will automatically update as you change one. To add colors without specifying the color codes, highlight the text to color in the top textfield and press the corresponding color button. The color preview will show up above the top textfield, and the color codes will be automatically created.

As you select colors, the special features buttons (alternate, trim and shade) will keep track of the most recently used colors for use in these special features. The colors that will be used are displayed in the colors of the button and its text.
  • Alternate (Alt) starts with the color of the button and then alternates between that and the color of the text.
  • Trim paints the borders of the selected area with the color of the button and paints the rest with the text color.
  • Shade creates shaded gradients on word boundaries, with the button edge color on the outermost edges, the button color in from that, and the middle in the text color.
Once the special button shows the desired color, highlight the text to colorize and press the corresponding special button.

Tip: The top textfield bases color on absolute position, while the bottom textfield bases color on position of codes in the string. When updating the string after color coding has been added, update it in the bottom textfield if you want the colors to stay with the same words.
